Mesothelioma Trial Lawyers Files Lawsuit on Behalf of Victim Diagnosed with Mesothelioma from Asbestos Product Exposure related to a Kiln Oven

New York and New Jersey mesothelioma trial lawyers at Levy Phillips & Konigsberg, LLP, filed an Asbestos lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court, on behalf of a New York City woman diagnosed with mesothelioma from Asbestos product exposure. The claimant, a sculptor, was diagnosed with this fatal disease at the age of eighty-seven.

Mesothelioma trial lawyers at Levy Phillips & Konigsberg state that the New York City woman was exposed to Asbestos by the kiln oven she used to fire her clay sculptors. She was also exposed as a young girl, as an indirect result of her brother's exposure to Asbestos while he was working as a welder in the 1940s at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Mesothelioma is caused by inhalation of Asbestos fibers, usually created in dust from various products. She recalls cleaning her brother's clothing when he came home from work, which was dirty and dust laden , thereby, exposing her to the dust from the various Asbestos products he used at the shipyard. Asbestos is the only known cause of mesothelioma, a fatal cancer that occurs primarily in the lining of the lungs and the abdomen. Mesothelioma typically develops at least fifteen years after the first exposure to Asbestos products. Asbestos can cause mesothelioma even when the exposure occurs for a short duration. Asbestos fibers are microscopic and exposure can occur without a worker even knowing it. According to LPK trial lawyers claims of workers acquiring mesothelioma from Brooklyn Navy Yard Exposure to Asbestos are not uncommon, as exposure to Asbestos products in shipyards was widespread during the 1940s and is well documented.

This mesothelioma lawsuit was filed by mesothelioma trial lawyers "LPK" against various Asbestos manufacturers whose products the claimant may have come into contact with. An application was made to the court for this case to be placed on the New York City Asbestos Litigation (NYCAL) extremis docket for an accelerated trial date, given the severity of the claimant's disease.
