NEW YORK AND NEW JERSEY MESOTHELIOMA ATTORNEYS - DISCUSS PLEURAL AND PERITONEAL MESOTHELIOMA, INTERVIEW OF FIVE YEAR SURVIVOR.
Watch as Gary White, mesothelioma survivor of 5 years, talks about his story with co-host Robert ("Bob") Komitor, of the Law Firm, Levy Phillips Konigsbers, LLP, New York and New Jersey mesothelioma attorneys with more than 20 years of experience. During initial mesothelioma surgery, a skilled surgeon removed a 14 pound mass from Gary's abdominal cavity. Unlike pleural mesothelioma, peritoneal mesothelioma which attacks the abdomen and results in severe abdominal pain and discomfort.
Represented by Mr. Komitor and his team of New York and New Jersey mesothelioma attorneys, Gary describes his initial symptoms of abdominal pain, which were caused by peritoneal mesothelioma. Pleural Mesothelioma causes similar pain in the area of the chest and lungs. For several years, doctors tried to determine the source of his discomfort. Gary makes the point that most people are diagnosed with mesothelioma at advanced stages because the symptoms of the disease can be subtle and can "masquerade" as other conditions.
As the graphic in this video clip demonstrates, there are two types of mesothelioma: pleural mesothelioma involving the membrane surrounding the lungs and peritoneal mesothelioma involving the membrane surrounding the abdomen. Mesothelioma symptoms can include chest pain, shortness of breath, weight loss, gastrointestinal discomfort, bloating, diarrhea, and irregularity.
